Paul Hasegawa

Paul Hasegawa has spent more than 30 years in marketing, advertising and market research, both with corporations and agencies. Before joining COSMO, he was president and representative director for ACNielsen Japan. Earlier, he was director in charge of international accounts at I&S (now I&S/BBDO) and second-in-command at Ogilvy & Mather Japan. Mr. Hasegawa's career began at Pepsi-Cola Japan as a creative services manager. He later became Pepsi-Cola brand manager for Japan, marketing manager for Southeast Asia, and marketing director for East Asia.

Hiroya Kumamaru, M.D., PhD.

Dr. Hiroya Kumamaru graduated from Keio University's School of Medicine in 1980 with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Medical Science. He is a cardiovascular surgeon, having received training in Japan, the United States, and Monaco. From 1996 to 2005 he was the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Medicine for Pfizer Pharmaceutical Inc. Japan. After he came back to clinical cardiovascular surgery again in the one of the affiliated Hospital of Keio Medical School, he decided to proceed to the private practice to be the Director of KI Akihabara Clinic and currently the medical advisor to COSMO. In addition to his specialization in cardiovascular diseases and treatments, he is a Japanese Board-certified Anti-Aging Doctor and has extensive knowledge of alternative and holistic medicines.

Dr. Toshikazu Oki

Dr. Toshikazu Oki joined COSMO in 2010 and has worked as a consultant and adviser to domestic and international biotech-firms since 1998. Dr. Oki has extensive experience as a professor and lecturer at several universities in Japan and abroad. He is currently a visiting professor at the University of Southern California Medical School and Yokohama City University's Graduate School of Integrated Science & Medical School.

Satoki Sano

Satoki Sano joined COSMO in August 2009. A veteran with over 30 years experience in advertising and marketing, Satoki also served as COO of JWT Japan before heading up his own marketing consultancy and working as COSMO's senior strategic advisor. Prior to JWT, Satoki was an executive manager at Hakuhodo Inc., Japan's second largest advertising agency, where he headed up the company's international M&A group. Before taking up this position, he was a marketing planner for the agency working with a number of international clients including Coca Cola, BMW, Nestle, Shiseido, and others. Mr. Sano also served as marketing director for Budweiser Japan, a joint-venture between Anheuser-Busch and Kirin Beer. Mr. Sano received his B.A. and M.A. from International Christian University, with a major in biological and experimental psychology.

Osamu Higuchi

Osamu Higuchi joined COSMO in April 2013. Mr. Higuchi is a partner/director of Archetype, an incubator/consulting firm based in Tokyo, and also serves as a board member of several IT companies, including ITmedia and Infoteria. Prior to co-founding Archetype, he supported the corporate revival of TEAC as the managing director, co-founded AtmarkIT (now ITmedia), and launched Infoseek Japan as the director of business development. He also introduced Lotus Notes to the Japanese market while at Lotus (now IBM), and engineered early products at Sony. Mr. Higuchi received his BE (Electronics) from Kyushu University.

Kanji Fujii

Kanji Fujii is was previously the executive vice president of CareNet, Inc., a leading provider of internet-based medical information in Japan. Since the start-up of CareNet, he led the development and sales of business providing medical and pharmaceutical education information to medical professionals, and contributed to the successful IPO of the company. He also took the lead of developing the e-marketing service in the fast-growing Chinese pharmaceutical market. He received an MBA from the University of Virginia.
